About the event
Ritsudo Therapy, or Ritsudoho, was developed by Mogi Akira Sensei (born 1945) after a serious lower-back injury sustained in his youth while practicing traditional martial arts. Dissatisfied with the results of conventional approaches, he entered acupuncture and moxibustion school, while also studying chiropractic, and gradually developed a unique method centered on the body’s rhythmic movement.
Ritsudoho is based on the observation that the human body is always expressing such subtle movements. The skeleton, internal organs, brain, skin, muscles, ligaments, nervous system, and other tissues all fluctuate rhythmically, like breathing. Through refined observation and assessment, the practitioner learns to perceive these rhythms and recognize patterns of balance, tension, and self-regulation within the body.
